Bletsoe WI is a small friendly group who meet once a month in the Village Hall to listen to speakers on a wide range of subjects – these are normally informative and entertaining.
We meet at 7.45pm on the second Tuesday of the month. There is always time for tea/coffee and a chat after the speaker.
As well as our monthly meetings, we also enjoy quizzes, group meetings with other villages in North Beds, a summer barbecue, an outing and a Christmas Party.
On a more serious note, we get a chance to put forward important issues on which we are able to vote and then the chosen subject becomes a national campaign. Former topics include equal pay, AIDs awareness, violence against women, the shortage of midwives and the plight of the honey bee.
So it’s not all jam and calendars, although we do sing Jerusalem on occasions!
If you are interested please do come along, you will receive a warm welcome. If you would like to speak to someone about WI or our meetings, please give Alison a call on 781372.
Visitors (including men) are welcome at any meeting. Talks start at 8.00pm. Visitors are asked for a £3 donation which includes refreshments.
